Volunteering is a great way to meet people, share your talents, and develop new talents.
Tech It Up has several ways for people to volunteer. Here are a few ways:
Loving Listeners – No technology experience is needed. These folks set with students during workshops and listen. Recognizing another human is one of the greatest gifts we can give. It says “You are important and you matter.”
Workshop Helpers – These are students that have already completed a Tech IT Up workshop and return as a helper or even an instructor. Some tech skills are required.
Interns – These folks have a knack for technology and like sharing their knowledge. They may respond to words such as “techie”, “geek” or “nerd” and wear their badge with honor. Interns may help teach workshops, prepare the technology for workshops and fill other vital roles for Tech It Up.
Rover – A rover is an all-around good volunteer who gets asked to do all manner of things. They may consider themself a “groupie” and may be seen hanging around the Tech It Up space because it’s fun.
