Computer donations needed

Our landfills already have too much reusable “stuff.” Why add to the problem when you can put your old computer hardware to good use? Please donate it to Tech It Up. We will prepare it for reuse by wiping the data or replacing the hard drive. Then a young mind will get to take it apart, learn about the components and resemble it into a working PC.

Here is what we are looking for?

Used Personal Computers. Unfortunately, we are unable to use Apple products at this time.

It is ideal for us to receive multiple similar computers from one source. For example, when a school or business upgrades its technology, we would love to receive the old one.

Items needed: Personal PCs, Keyboards, Monitors, Mouse, Towers, Laptops, PC parts, Power Cords (No Apple equipment)

How to get it to us?

We can schedule to be at the drop-off location at the First United Methodist Church of Grand Junction,  522 White Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501 when it is convenient for you. We also hold collection days throughout the year or you may see us at a Pop-up location around town.

Now! We are offering workshops at area locations and need 10-12 PCs to make 8 usable PCs.

We can provide you with a receipt for your tax-deductible donation to Tech It Up.

Tech It Up is proud to be in partnership with CORRecycling Inc., a Grand Junction area electronics recycling center focused on protecting the privacy of their customers and the environment. As a responsible E-Waste recycler for businesses and residential  CORRecycling Inc. provides used PC, monitors, keyboards, and mice for kids that attend Tech It Up workshops. The students take apart and reassemble the computers learning about all aspects of computing. At the end of the 6 -week course, the students take the computers home with them. When Tech It Up collects used electronics that they can not use, CORRecycling Inc. picks up the equipment and recycles it at their location. Because of our partnership with CORRecycling Inc., young minds are exposed to computers and careers in technology in an uplifting and safe environment. And computers that may have gone to be recycled are being repurposed and given to young people.
